Chemical Skin Peel

What is it?
The human skin consists of several layers each with a complex and vital role to play from fighting against infection to temperature regulation.

The very surface layer of your skin is the Stratum Corneum, mainly consisting of dead cells that your body naturally sheds every 28-30 days, stimulating new cell growth. However this does not always happen efficiently, leaving a build up of dead cells on the surface of our skin. These can then act as a barrier from nutrients and the effects of creams and lotions, as well as the potential to create white heads, blackheads and acne.

Chemical peel is a revolutionary accelerated renewal procedure that works to remove these dead cells from the surface of the skin and stimulate the reproduction of new healthy living cells beneath. This results in great improvement, not only in the skins appearance, but also reducing the visible effects of scars, sun damage, enlarged pores, acne, superficial lines and uneven skin pigmentation. You will also find an increase in the condition, clarity and brightness of the skin.

There are various types of Chemical Peel offering different results. At Lasaderm we carry out both Medical Strength Skin Peels and Clinical Peels.

Clinical Peels are milder, aimed at clinents who wish to have refreshed skin. They are perfect for anybody with light pigmentation, acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles.

Medical Peels are slightly deeper leve and can only be administered by qualified experts such as doctors. These are specifically aimed for clients with darker pigmentation, deeper acne scarring, lines and wrinkles.

What should I Expect?
The process begins with a FREE consultation with one of our team at Lasaderm who will assess your suitability for the Skin Peel. This may be accompanied with the option of having a 3D Beau Visage Skin Analysis (as seen on Extreme Makeover) Where the doctors are able to see what is really happening under your skin and even tell you your skin’s age!… if you are brave enough! 

Finally they will also explain the full benefits of the treatment so you can make an informed decision before proceeding.

The procedure itself is neither surgical or invasive. The chemical Peel is applied to the affected area using either a sponge, cotton pad, cotton swab or brush, no anesthetic is required and you are able to go home immediately after the treatment has finished.

After completion of your Chemical Peel, you will find the area to be pink for approximately 1-2 days. By Day 4 the skin then dries and begins to exfoliate, removing the dead cells and regenerating fresh, healthy skin cells. This process can take a maximum of 10 days and should not severely effect or disrupt your day to day activities and regular lifestyle.
